File formats

Snipe Calc can open and save the formats below. Use File → Save… and choose the type from the list. Cell values and plain text import and export cleanly; charts and macros stay with desktop Calc.

ODF (Open Document Format)

ExtensionOpenSaveNotes
.odsYesYesDefault Calc format; opens in SnipeOffice / LibreOffice
.fodsYesYesFlat ODF XML

Microsoft Excel

ExtensionOpenSaveNotes
.xlsxYesYesExcel 2007+ workbook, cell values only (first sheet)

For Excel 97-2003 (.xls), macro workbooks (.xlsm), and Excel templates (.xlt, .xltx), open in desktop SnipeOffice or save as .xlsx or .ods first.

Delimited & interchange text

ExtensionOpenSaveNotes
.csvYesYesComma-separated values
.tsvYesYesTab-separated values
.txtYesYesAsks for delimiter (comma, tab, semicolon, or pipe)
.difYesYesData Interchange Format
.slkYesYesSymbolic Link (SYLK)
Grid limit. Calc uses a fixed grid (30×12 by default). Extra rows/columns in a file are truncated on open. Multi-sheet Excel/ODS files load the first sheet into the active tab; use Sheet tabs inside Calc for additional sheets after import.
